Strength here is strength of faith, knowledge, and good deeds. From Abu Hurairah radhiyallahu 'anhu, the Prophet ﷺ said: A strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than a weak believer, though there is good in both. Strive for that which benefits you, seek the help of Allah, and do not feel helpless. If you are afflicted by something, do not say: 'If only I had done such-and-such, it would have been such-and-such'; rather say: 'This is the decree of Allah, and He does what He wills,' for the word 'if' opens the door to Satan's deeds.
This hadith is sahih. Narrated by Muslim (no. 2664); Ahmad (II/366, 370); Ibn Majah (no. 79, 4168); an-Nasa'i in 'Amalul Yaum wal Lailah (no. 626, 627); at-Tahawi in Sharh Mushkil al-Athar (no. 259, 260, 262); Ibn Abi 'Asim in Kitab as-Sunnah (no. 356). Authenticated by Shaykh al-Albani rahimahullah in Hidayatur Ruwat ila Takhriji Ahaditsil Mashabih wal Misykat (no. 5228).
