There is no compulsion in religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in false deities and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. Allah is the Protector of those who believe. He brings them out from darknesses into the light. And those who disbelieve — their allies are the false deities. They take them out of the light into darknesses. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.
Note: Sheikh Redwan's verification for Majmu'ah ar-Rasa'il (Al-Ma'thurat chapter), footnote no. 77 states: Al-Darimi and al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman narrated from Ibn Mas'ud (r.a.): "Whoever recites ten verses from Surah al-Baqarah in the early morning, Satan will not approach him until evening. And when he recites them in the evening, Satan will not approach him until morning, nor will he see anything he dislikes happen to his family or his wealth." A hadith narrated by al-Tabarani in al-Kabir and graded sahih by al-Hakim reports from Ibn Mas'ud (r.a.) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever recites ten verses: four from the beginning of Surah al-Baqarah, Ayat al-Kursi, two verses after it, and the end of al-Baqarah, Satan will not enter his house until morning."
