حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْعَلَاءِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ: «اسْمُ اللَّهِ الْأَعْظَمُ الَّذِي إِذَا دُعِيَ بِهِ أَجَابَ فِي سُوَرٍ ثَلَاثٍ: الْبَقَرَةِ، وَآلِ عِمْرَانَ، وَطه». حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَ: ذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِعِيسَى بْنِ مُوسَى، فَحَدَّثَنِي أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ غَيْلَانَ بْنَ أَنَسٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَهُ.
Al-Qasim said: “The greatest name of Allah — by which, when He is called upon, He answers — is in three surahs: al-Baqarah, Ali ‘Imran, and Taha.” Ibn Majah then gives a second route: ‘Amr ibn Abi Salamah said: I mentioned that to ‘Isa ibn Musa, and he told me that he heard Ghaylan ibn Anas narrate it from al-Qasim, from Abu Umamah, from the Prophet (peace be upon him), similarly.

Note the form of the report: Ibn Majah gives it primarily as al-Qasim’s own words (maqtu‘), then follows it with the marfu‘ route from Abu Umamah (r.a.). This difference is discussed by hadith scholars — al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar records the disagreement in Fath al-Bari.
Al-Hakim’s Mustadrak (no. 1861) gives it marfu‘ from Abu Umamah (r.a.); that card exists separately in Qawiy.
